DMA qualification gains official recognition in Beijing

The Digital Management Accounting credential, a pathway to the CGMA designation, has been added to Beijing’s International Professional Qualification Directory.

The Digital Management Accounting (DMA) credential has been officially included in the Beijing International Professional Qualification Directory (2025 Edition). Beijing’s recognition of digital management accounting expertise is a significant step in the city’s mission to accelerate talent development and digital transformation, according to a news release.

The addition of the DMA credential into Beijing’s directory provides holders with streamlined access to employment, residence, professional title recognition, and social security benefits, the release said. The directory aims to establish a framework for evaluating international professional qualifications, streamline talent policies, and support the development of high-level international professionals in Beijing.

The DMA is a bilingual programme — developed by CIMA and the China International Talent Exchange Foundation and launched in 2022 — specifically for China, with content delivered in Chinese and English. It is also a pathway to the CGMA designation.

The programme strives to equip professionals with digital, data-driven management skills for enterprise strategy and value creation. “Its inclusion aligns with China’s 2024 Ministry of Finance policy to strengthen digital and intelligent management accounting capabilities and cultivate innovative, cross-functional finance talent,” the release said.
