Unpacking Amazon’s success

Amazon’s business is growing in part because of Amazon Web Services, a division created to handle enterprise cloud data services. Despite that technology presence, Amazon is widely known as a customer-focused retailer with low prices and fast shipping. The graphic below offers insight into Amazon’s successful delivery model.

The company got its start in North America, where sales revenue is twice that of the rest of the world. But it is growing beyond its home continent. Amazon has offices in more than 30 countries and ships items to more than 100 countries. One recent addition to the growing global list is Australia, where the transportation infrastructure is challenging Amazon’s ability to ship quickly and reliably.
