AICPA & CIMA invite research proposals in Central and Eastern Europe

The recent creation of a research centre in Central and Eastern Europe is designed to support innovative management accounting research and best practice.

AICPA & CIMA, together as the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, announced a call for research proposals for their new research centre in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), according to a news release.

With its first call for proposals, the AICPA & CIMA CEE Research Centre is seeking research projects addressing contemporary issues in management accounting and control practice in Central and Eastern Europe, including areas such as business performance, sustainability reporting, and skills.

The deadline for applications is 11:59pm GMT on 24 November.

“The CEE Research Centre works with universities, the public sector, and key industry players in the region to develop cutting-edge research, promote best practices, and drive innovation in management accounting to meet business needs,” the release said.

Ian Selby, Ph.D., vice president—Global Management Accounting Research and Development at AICPA & CIMA, said the new research centre will showcase the skills of researchers in Central and Eastern Europe.

“By creating, releasing, and fostering fresh insights and good practice analysis, we ensure the continued relevance and success of the finance profession in an ever-evolving business world,” Selby said in the release.

Research grants are available to experienced and early-career researchers from institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.
