Economies are beginning to reopen, and people around the world are getting used to social distancing and face masks. Meanwhile, the global count of confirmed coronavirus infections has topped 8 million (3.84 million of which are active), and the number of confirmed deaths exceeded 400,000 as of June 15. Confirmed coronavirus infection cases are now in over 220 countries and territories; 189 of them reported fatalities. The US leads the world in the number of confirmed deaths (116,108), followed by Brazil (43,959), the UK (41,969), Italy (34,405), and France (29,436). Fatality rates are highest in Europe and North America.
