Learn from... PepsiCo’s carbon footprint analysis

When drinks maker PepsiCo first analysed the carbon lifecycle of its orange juice brand Tropicana, it was surprised to learn that nitrogen fertiliser used to grow citrus trees accounted for 35 per cent of the total.

Now the company is working with agriculture firms to develop green fertiliser that could cut Tropicana’s total footprint by 20 per cent.
