CIMA chief executive handed honorary doctorate
CIMA chief executive Charles Tilley has been presented with an honorary doctorate from BPP University College, London, in recognition of his services to the accounting profession.
He received his doctorate at the university’s graduation ceremony on 25 November at the Guildhall, London.
Carl Lygo, principal of BPP University College, said: “We are honoured to bestow this honorary doctorate to Charles Tilley. As a professional training provider, our links to practitioners and pioneers within the sector are crucial to our programmes, and our students, faculty and clients will benefit from the expertise, knowledge and reputation that Charles will bring to BPP.”
Speaking after the ceremony, Charles Tilley said: “I am delighted to be awarded this honorary doctorate. It has been a very rewarding experience guiding CIMA towards new challenges in terms of increasing the institute’s global reach and its commitment to developing management accountants who are able to drive sustainable business success in these challenging economic times.
“BPP is one of CIMA’s most long-standing and trusted business partners and we will continue to work together to train the business leaders of the future.”
