CIMA’s sustainability event discusses progress and the merits of integrated reporting

More than 60 delegates attended CIMA’s hard-hitting sustainability event featuring a number of finance and business leaders recently.
The attendees gathered at the ETC venue in London, renowned for its environmentally-friendly focus, to gain a better understanding of best practice in sustainability management.
Charles Tilley, CIMA’s CEO, championed the event alongside Sandra Rapacioli, CIMA’s head of sustainability. The day also saw the launch of three cutting-edge research reports and outlined developments in integrated reporting.
The CIMA-sponsored reports were launched by leading experts in the field, and included: “Sustainability performance management: How CFOs can unlock value”, “Strategic responses to global climate change: a UK analysis”, and “Management control for sustainability strategy”.
Speaking at the event, CIMA member Dr Jeremy Osborn, project manager at The Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S) and the International Integrated Reporting Committee, gave an enthusiastic presentation about his work on integrated reporting.
Meanwhile, Andrew Mead from Accenture spoke about the work he had done with Sandra Rapacioli on sustainability and the role of the CFO.
Professor Jan Bebbington, who was a keynote speaker at the CIMA World Conference in South Africa, talked about her work on the role of the management accountant in sustainability strategy.
