More than 130 senior CIMA members attended the Anthony Howitt Lecture in London on 18 May to hear CIMA’s professor of accounting and financial management at the London School of Economics, Professor Wim A. Van der Stede, discuss issues around global governance.

The lecture was thought-provoking and discussed how, with a major corporate crisis, comes a new wave of regulatory reform, yet firms are seemingly incapable of preventing the next one.

The lectures were established through a trust fund set up by past president Anthony Howitt in 1985 to help CIMA develop the science of management accounting.
