‘Editor's note’
Economists and other forecasters may be predicting a challenging year ahead for businesses.
But 2012 is also set to be an exciting one for the world’s management accountants.
At the end of January, CIMA and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) will officially launch the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation.
Through this groundbreaking new international joint venture, CIMA and the AICPA will leverage the collective power of more than 550,000 members and students to advance the science of management accounting, substantially benefiting their members, students and the public at large.
Charles Tilley, chief executive of CIMA, and Barry Melancon, president and CEO of the AICPA, will be answering your questions about the new CGMA designation in next month’s edition of Financial Management.
You can send in your questions to both of them via letters@fm-magazine.com.
Meanwhile, you can find our more about the CGMA designation – and what it will mean for you and your organisation – at www.cgma.org.
